Richmond Hill

A forward thinking design proposal within the curtilage of a Grade II Listed building. As a relatively large garden in the context of Richmond Hill, the opportunity to create a green oasis which extends seamlessly from the back of the house presented a number of challenges relating to TPO’d trees, variable ground levels, integration of works within extensive root zones, and a Clients aspiration to have an instant garden. The scheme embraced a number of integrated design components including level terraces, extensive water harvesting strategy, water features, new vegetable and kitchen garden, sculptural features, feature benches and archways.

ALD provided the full range of Landscape Architectural services from initial site surveys, through planning submissions and design development to detailed design & tender stage, on to construction detailing and site supervision. The property was recognised by the Richmond Historic Architectural Society as a result of its seamless preservation coupled with adoption of innovation and environmental criteria
