De Laszlo House

A large garden within the curtilage of a Grade II Listed building for 18 contemporary flats set in amongst the leafy suburb of Hampstead. The project has afforded the ability to create a large communal garden focusing on a water feature and grass ‘mound’ the brief was an informal garden where relaxation and entertaining can be achieved. This large garden is balanced by small secluded courtyards and private front garden spaces.

With the landscape being installed largely over a basement car park structure, in an area surrounded by TPO’d trees, the challenges presented by the site were turned into opportunities to create a garden with an established feel that respects its setting and reflect the aspirations of the new residents. Award winner in the Intensive and Extensive Green Roof Installations category of the BALI 2012 Awards.

ALD competed the full range of services on this project from concept design and material boards / client presentations, through to site works, completion and defects.
