4 Pancras Square Roof Terrace, Kings Cross

Four Pancras Square is an 11-storey commercial building with stunning views from two roof terraces designed by Todd Langstaffe-Gowan. Incorporating a combination of large and irregularly-shaped wooden terraces that hover above a moorland landscape formed of natural planting and a number of water bodies. The northern terrace forms a large space for events and functions, ideal for Universal’s promotional activity, with additional seating areas to take in the views over Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard as well amazing sunsets to the west. The southern terrace provides a more intimate mix of spaces and seating with wide panoramas over The City, St Pauls Cathedral, The Shard, and the London Eye.

With early-on involvement and design development including a full-scale mockup of one of the water bodies, associated decking and reclining benches, ALD provided full construction and technical detailing services for both terraces, resolving complex interfaces and specific client requirements to provide a contemporary multi-function outdoor space.
