Landscape Architect

Tom is a driven and ambitious landscape architect; originally studying geography, Tom then undertook a conversion masters and post graduate diploma in landscape architecture after working on renewable energy projects for two years and catching the bug!. Tom is passionate about sustainable development and natural capital as focuses for landscape design and management. Developing his understanding of these concepts and the role and potential of them within the built environment drives him in his work.

 

During his career prior to ALD, Tom has gained experience working across a range of sectors, including residential, leisure, commercial and energy. He has produced and assisted with the production of masterplans, promotional material, planting plans and detailed designs across these sectors. In addition to his design skills, Tom has a robust understanding of the LVIA process, including report writing, production of photomontages, ZTV analysis and technical photography.

 

Favourite tree: Beech woodlands for their striking forms and the contrast of dappled light on a shaded woodland floor.

 

Favourite places: Mountains - the Alps or the Rockies, both are stunning, awe inspiring landscapes with amazing skiing!
